US to Return Over $100 Million in Assets Linked to 1MDB Scandal to Malaysia

Agreement with fugitive financier Jho Low includes forfeiture of luxury assets and artworks bought with embezzled funds.

Additional $67 million in real estate and bank accounts in Hong Kong, Switzerland, and Singapore to be returned.
Jho Low, central figure in the 1MDB scandal, remains a fugitive with unknown whereabouts.
The US has previously returned over $1.4 billion in assets linked to the 1MDB scheme.
Total of $4.5 billion was allegedly stolen from the 1MDB fund, intended for Malaysia’s economic development.
