- Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange closed their U.S. equities and options sessions on Monday, September 7, 2026, for Labor Day and are set to resume regular trading on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
- Normal U.S. equity market hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time and those hours will apply when the exchanges reopen for the regular session on Tuesday.
- The 2026 exchange calendars list ten full-day holidays and two planned early closes at 1:00 p.m. Eastern on November 27 and December 24, which investors should note for year-end planning.
- The bond market follows a separate SIFMA schedule with typical hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern and different holiday and early-close rules than the stock exchanges.
