U.S. Soldier Pleads Not Guilty to Fatal Shootings at Washington Music Festival

James Kelly, a U.S. soldier, pleaded not guilty to charges related to shooting and killing two people and injuring three others at a music festival in Washington.
Kelly claimed he hallucinated after taking psychedelic mushrooms and opened fire, believing the world was ending.
The victims included a couple, Brandy Escamilla and Josilyn Ruiz, and two other women.
The shooting occurred at the Beyond Wonderland electronic dance music festival at the Gorge Amphitheatre, in a venue which bans weapons.
If convicted, Kelly faces up to life in prison. His trial is scheduled for late August.
