The United States ensured a seeding in the last eight of the Davis Cup Finals by defeating Germany 2-1 in Zhuhai, China.

The United States topped Group C and will be seeded in the Davis Cup Finals quarterfinals in Malaga, Spain, this November.
Reilly Opelka and Brandon Nakashima won their singles matches, securing a 2-0 lead before the doubles match.
Nakashima, in his debut campaign, remained undefeated with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Maximilian Marterer.
Opelka, recovering from hip and wrist surgeries, saved three match points to beat Henri Squire 6-7 (4), 7-6 (9), 6-3.
Despite losing the doubles match, the US team completed a perfect group stage run without their top players like Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul, and Frances Tiafoe.
