Overview

  • On July 31, 2025, the US Department of State designated six Indian petrochemical companies for engaging in significant transactions with Iran in violation of Executive Order 13846.
  • The sanctioned firms — Kanchan Polymers; Alchemical Solutions Pvt. Ltd.; Jupiter Dye Chem Pvt. Ltd.; Ramniklal S Gosalia and Company; Global Industrial Chemicals Ltd.; and Persistent Petrochem Pvt. Ltd. — imported tens of millions of dollars in Iranian-origin petrochemicals over the past year.
  • All property and interests of these entities in the United States or under US control are now blocked and US persons are prohibited from dealing with them without specific Office of Foreign Assets Control authorization.
  • The action is part of the US maximum pressure campaign that targets Iran’s shadow fleet of vessels and intermediary networks to cut off funding for its nuclear, missile, and proxy programs.
  • The designated companies may petition the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control for removal from the sanctions list and have not yet issued any public response.
