U.S. Sanctions IranVenezuela Drone and Missile Network, Targeting EANSA and Iranian Operatives

The designations use proliferation authorities to choke U.S. financial access for networks tied to Iranian combat drones and missile procurement.

Overview

  • Treasury and State on Dec. 30 designated 10 individuals and entities in Iran and Venezuela under E.O. 13382 and E.O. 13949.
  • Venezuela’s Empresa Aeronautica Nacional SA and chairman Jose Jesus Urdaneta Gonzalez were named for acquiring and assembling Iranian Qods-designed combat UAVs worth millions of dollars.
  • OFAC listed Iran-based operatives tied to procuring sodium perchlorate, sebacic acid and nitrocellulose for Parchin Chemical Industries’ solid-propellant missile work.
  • Entities and individuals linked to Rayan Fan Kav Andish Co., which supports IRGC UAV and aerospace programs, were added to the sanctions roster.
  • The measures freeze U.S.-linked assets, bar transactions by U.S. persons and reinforce recently reimposed U.N. restrictions as Washington steps up pressure with tanker seizures and a confirmed strike on a Venezuelan dock, alongside new threats against Iran.
