US Sanctions Firms in China, Hong Kong, Turkey and Singapore for Supplying Iran’s IRGC

The designations target networks that facilitate Iran’s drone and missile programs by moving dual-use components through front companies.

Overview

  • The US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control designated one person and eight entities for their roles in procuring and transshipping dual-use machinery to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
  • Sanctioned firms include Hong Kong’s Unico and Athena Shipping, China’s Futech and Shenzhen Xinxin Shipping, Singapore’s V-Shipping, and Turkey’s Edis Dis Ticaret.
  • The Panama-flagged bulk carrier Shun Kai Xing and its captain, Zhang Yanbang, were blacklisted for forging documents to conceal cargo destined for IRGC-linked companies Rayan Roshd Afzar and Towse Sanaye Nim Resanaye Tarashe.
  • All listed parties face asset freezes and are barred from accessing the US financial system under the Specially Designated Nationals list.
  • The move coincides with a week of intensified Iran-Israel hostilities that have left at least 224 Iranians and 25 Israelis dead.
