U.S. Sanctions Entities in Turkey and Lebanon Supporting Iran and Hezbollah

- The U.S. has imposed sanctions on three entities and one individual based in Turkey and Lebanon for providing financial support to Iran's Quds Force and Lebanon's Hezbollah.
- The entities have reportedly generated hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue from selling Iranian commodities, including to the Syrian government.
- The sanctioned entities include Turkey-based Mira Ihracat Ithalat Petrol and its CEO Ibrahim Talal al-Uwayr, and two Lebanon-based entities, Yara Offshore SAL and Hydro Company for Drilling Equipment Rental.
- As a result of the sanctions, all property of those targeted in the U.S. or under the control of U.S. persons is blocked.
- The sanctions come amid growing tension between the U.S. and Iran following a drone attack in Jordan that killed three American service members.
