Overview

- The officer was treated on scene and airlifted by a U.S. Park Police helicopter to a local hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, with release expected later today.
- The striking vehicle remained at the scene, the patrol vehicle was damaged and towed, and a multi-agency investigation is underway.
- Northbound lanes were temporarily closed for the investigation and medical helicopter operations and have since reopened.
