US Navy Intercepts Iranian Missiles in Defense of Israel

American destroyers successfully engaged multiple Iranian ballistic missiles following a large-scale attack on Israel.

USS Cole and USS Bulkeley, stationed in the Eastern Mediterranean, fired approximately a dozen SM-3 interceptors.
The Iranian missile barrage was reportedly in retaliation for assassinations of key leaders from Hezbollah and Hamas.
Videos released by the US Navy show the interceptors being launched to defend against the nearly 200 missiles fired by Iran.
Although some Iranian missiles hit Israeli air bases, they caused no significant damage to aircraft.
The SM-3 interceptors, capable of exo-atmospheric engagement, were used in combat for the second time this year.
