U.S. Marshals Join Search for Timothy Busfield as NBC Pulls SVU Episode

U.S. Marshals are assisting Albuquerque police in locating the actor following a New Mexico warrant alleging abuse of twin child actors.

Overview

  • An Albuquerque Police Department warrant issued Jan. 9 charges Busfield with two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of child abuse.
  • Authorities say Busfield has not been located, and APD confirmed it is working with the U.S. Marshals Service to take him into custody.
  • The affidavit cites allegations from twin child actors on The Cleaning Lady, therapist and medical records, and descriptions of alleged grooming such as off‑set socializing and gifts.
  • In response, NBC pulled a Jan. 15 Law & Order: SVU episode featuring Busfield, and Warner Bros. Television said it is cooperating with law enforcement.
  • In a police interview cited in the warrant, Busfield said it was highly likely he had physical contact in a “playful” setting and suggested the parents were upset their children were not brought back to the show.
