U.S. Marshals Capture Over 3,400 Violent Fugitives in Major Operation

Operation North Star targets dangerous offenders in 10 cities, seizing firearms and fentanyl.

The U.S. Marshals Service arrested 3,421 fugitives, including 216 for homicide, during a five-month initiative.
Operation North Star focused on 10 metropolitan areas, including Dallas-Fort Worth, Phoenix, and St. Louis.
Authorities recovered 534 firearms, over $508,000 in cash, and 456 kilograms of illegal drugs, including 138 pounds of fentanyl.
The operation prioritized fugitives who used firearms in crimes or posed high risks for violence.
Since its launch in 2022, Operation North Star has led to the capture of more than 10,200 fugitives.
