Overview
- Authorities said the U.S. Marshals Service took 30-year-old Alfredo Marrero into custody around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday on the 3700 block of North Percy Street.
- He was wanted in connection with the Oct. 28 attack that injured 7-year-old Azuri Ford as she rode in a moving Honda with her mother in North Philadelphia.
- Police said the car was struck by gunfire on the 3000 block of North Marshall Street shortly after 7 p.m., and one bullet broke the child’s left arm.
- Investigators recovered six spent 9mm shell casings at the scene, and officials have not publicly identified a motive.
- Family members said Azuri has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home in a wheelchair due to pain from the injury.
