US Gymnast Kaliya Lincoln Wins Gold in Floor Exercise at Pan American Games

17-Year-Old Gymnast and Gabby Douglas Protege Hopes Pan Am Victory Will Propel Her to Paris Olympics Next Year

Kaliya Lincoln, a 17-year-old gymnast coached by Gabby Douglas, won the gold medal in floor exercise at the Pan American Games in Chile.
Lincoln overcame two favorites to win the gold, scoring 14.233 points, while her teammate Kayla DiCello and Brazilian Flávia Saraiva shared silver with 13.733 points each.
Last August, Lincoln earned a silver medal in floor exercise at the U.S. Classic, and finished second only to Simone Biles at the U.S. National Gymnastics Championships.
The relationship between Lincoln and Gabby Douglas, a three-time Olympic gold medalist, began on the TV program 'Undercover Boss: Celebrity Edition', where Douglas coached Lincoln.
Having started her gymnastics journey at age 5, Lincoln now expects this continental accomplishment to serve as a significant boost towards her dream of competing in the Paris Olympics next year.
