Overview

  • The White House halted shipments of Patriot interceptors, precision artillery rounds and Hellfire missiles after a Defense Department review flagged dangerously low U.S. stores.
  • Ukrainian officials have sought urgent clarification from Washington on which pledged weapons will now be delayed or canceled.
  • Germany’s Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul made unannounced visits to Kyiv and Odesa to promise continued military, humanitarian and economic support and to explore joint air-defense production.
  • Berlin will withhold its Taurus cruise missiles but has pledged to help Ukraine develop indigenous long-range strike capabilities to lessen reliance on external suppliers.
  • The Ukrainian Air Force said it intercepted nearly 500 Russian drones and dozens of missiles in its largest single-night air defense engagement since the invasion.
