• Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker finished a Sept. 23–26 visit to Karachi focused on expanding U.S.–Pakistan economic and security ties, according to the U.S. embassy.
• She met Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Governor Kamran Tessori to discuss trade, investment opportunities and U.S. support for flood recovery.
• Baker engaged Karachi business leaders and Reko Diq representatives on prospects in technology, energy, critical minerals, textiles, manufacturing, packaging and port development.
• She joined Pakistan Navy leaders to welcome the USS Wayne E. Meyer to Karachi port, underscoring ongoing cooperation on regional maritime security.
• The embassy cited more than 80 American companies operating in Pakistan with 120,000 direct jobs and roughly one million supported indirectly, while noting discussions produced signals of intent rather than new agreements, including a visit spotlighting KFC’s Deaf Reach School initiative.
