US DOJ Seeks Information from Saab North America on Brazil Jet Deal

The inquiry relates to the 2014 purchase of Gripen fighter jets by Brazil, previously investigated for alleged corruption.

Saab North America has received a subpoena from the U.S. Department of Justice concerning Brazil's acquisition of 36 Gripen fighter jets.
The purchase, made in 2014, was part of Brazil's FX-2 fighter procurement program, which also considered Boeing's F-18 and Dassault's Rafale.
Previous investigations by Brazilian and Swedish authorities into the procurement process concluded without finding any wrongdoing by Saab.
Saab has stated its intention to comply with the DOJ's request and cooperate fully in the matter.
The contract allows for Gripen jets to be produced in Brazil, with deliveries expected to continue until 2027.
