US deploys warships, jets and thousands of Marines to Middle East to deter Iranian threats

The US is sending warships, fighter jets, and thousands of Marines to the Middle East following Iranian attempts to seize commercial ships.
The deployment includes the amphibious USS Bataan group, the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, F-35 and F-16 jets, and the destroyer USS Thomas Hudner.
The forces aim to provide security for shipping lanes and uphold international order in response to destabilizing Iranian activities.
Earlier deployments include A-10 attack aircraft over the Strait of Hormuz and US intervention to stop Iran seizing tankers.
The US says the moves are deterrents against Iran's threats to commercial shipping and regional stability.
