Overview
- The federal schedule sets the end of daylight saving time for 2:00 a.m. local time on Sunday, November 1, 2026, when clocks in participating jurisdictions will be set back one hour to repeat the 1:00–2:00 a.m. hour.
- Several places do not change clocks: Hawaii, most of Arizona and several U.S. territories remain on standard time while the Navajo Nation in Arizona follows daylight saving time.
- The Sunshine Protection Act (H.R. 139) passed the House in July 2026 but had not become law by mid‑October 2026, so it does not prevent the November 1 clock change.
- Users should verify device and system settings because most modern phones, computers and smart devices update automatically when set to the correct time zone, but some vehicles, appliances and older systems require manual adjustment.
- Internationally, Spain will enter winter time the night of October 24–25, 2026 and EU/BOE schedules keep seasonal clock changes on the calendar through at least 2031, highlighting continued regional differences on the issue.
