Overview
- Most of the United States will set clocks back one hour at 2:00 a.m. local time on Sunday, November 2, 2025.
- Smartphones, computers and smartwatches typically update automatically, while analog clocks and some vehicle dashboards require manual adjustment.
- Hawaii, most of Arizona and U.S. territories including Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the Northern Mariana Islands and the U.S. Virgin Islands do not observe the biannual change.
- The U.S. Department of Transportation oversees time zones under the Uniform Time Act, and efforts in states such as California and Florida to make a permanent switch have not taken effect without action by Congress.
- Standard time will run through March 8, 2026, when daylight saving time is scheduled to begin again unless federal rules change.
