Overview

  • The State Department approved a potential $97.3 million package for 161 Javelin Lightweight Command Launch Units and related support.
  • DSCA sent Congress its certification (Transmittal 25-41), moving the proposal into legislative review.
  • The notification bundles non-MDE items including basic skills trainers, missile simulation rounds, battery coolant units, manuals, spare parts, tool kits, training, logistics, and engineering services.
  • RTX and Lockheed Martin’s Javelin Joint Venture is designated as the principal contractor, with no known offsets at this stage.
  • Officials say Australia can absorb the systems without added U.S. personnel or readiness impacts, and they assess improved deterrence and ISR-capable optics will not change the region’s military balance.
