U.S. Clears $825 Million ERAM Missiles for Ukraine, Plus Patriot Sustainment and Satcom

European partners contribute financing for the missile buy through a State Department–approved Foreign Military Sale.

Overview

  • State approved an estimated $825 million package for up to 3,350 ERAM missiles and 3,350 embedded GPS/INS units with Zone 5 Technologies and CoAspire named as prime contractors.
  • Denmark, the Netherlands and Norway will help fund the missile acquisition alongside U.S. Foreign Military Financing.
  • A separate potential $179.1 million sale covers Patriot air-defense sustainment, including spares, software updates and maintenance support with RTX and Lockheed Martin as principal contractors.
  • The State Department also approved about $150 million for satellite communications services and equipment, with Airforce Technology identifying Starlink Services as the principal contractor for an extension of existing terminal support.
  • DSCA said the approvals advance U.S. security objectives and bolster Ukraine’s air-defense capacity, with Congress notified under standard Foreign Military Sales procedures.
