  • Soldiers from the 1970th Quartermaster Company purified 10,000 gallons from the Ogan River on Aug. 24 using a Tactical Water Purification System with hypochlorite and polyelectrolytes.
  • Rain-driven turbidity, high humidity, and flash flooding reduced treated-water output and nearly inundated the riverbank treatment site.
  • The water team targets up to 10,000 gallons per day, with production expected to fluctuate based on field conditions and growing exercise needs through Sept. 5.
  • Super Garuda Shield 25 includes 13 participating nations and is giving Illinois Guard quartermasters realistic, first-time experience treating water in an uncontrolled environment.
