Overview

  • U.S. Soldiers from the 1st Armored Division Combat Aviation Brigade trained Poland’s 33rd APS Battalion at Powidz on Supply and Support Activity operations and GCSS-Army.
  • Polish personnel are now using the GCSS-Army system under U.S. Army civilian supervision following the August hands-on instruction.
  • At the same APS-2 site on August 18, senior sustainment leaders from the 3rd Infantry Division and 1st Armored Division reviewed capabilities and discussed cooperation with AFSBn-Poland.
  • Two Senate Appropriations defense staffers toured the Coleman APS-2 worksite in Germany on August 13, receiving briefings on capabilities and challenges such as outdoor storage and observing maintenance on Abrams and Bradleys.
  • The Powidz complex spans about 650,000 square feet of climate-controlled space and holds an entire armored brigade combat team’s equipment, part of a six-site APS-2 network that the Army says can cut deployment timelines to one or two weeks.
