Overview

  • The package allocates up to $172 million for HAWK Phase III medium-range surface-to-air missile systems, spare parts, refurbishment and logistical support.
  • It also earmarks up to $150 million for maintenance, repair and overhaul services to sustain operational rates of Bradley infantry fighting vehicles.
  • The Defense Security Cooperation Agency determined the transactions will not shift the regional military balance or undermine US defense stockpiles.
  • The approval follows a brief July pause in weapons shipments while the Pentagon assessed existing inventories.
  • Congress has a 30-day review period before finalizing the proposed arms sales.
