U.S. and Syrian Forces Destroy More Than 15 ISIS Weapons Caches in Southern Syria

  • CENTCOM said U.S. personnel working with Syria’s Interior Ministry identified and eliminated over 15 ISIS storage sites in Rif Dimashq during Nov. 24–27 operations.
  • Multiple airstrikes and controlled detonations destroyed more than 130 mortars and rockets, assault rifles, machine guns, anti-tank mines, and IED materials.
  • Forces also found and destroyed illicit drugs, which officials said were tied to ISIS activity, according to the command’s statement.
  • Adm. Brad Cooper said the action helps ensure ISIS cannot regenerate or export attacks and pledged continued pressure on ISIS remnants.
