Overview
- The countries carried out a mirrored security exercise along the Río Bravo and border wall on Thursday that simulated joint emergency responses and patrols.
- The operation brought together Mexican Ejército and Guardia Nacional units, municipal police and the INM alongside U.S. Border Patrol, CBP Air and Marine Operations, CBP Special Operations, the FBI and elements of the Texas Military Department.
- Helicopters, drones, boats, vehicles and technological surveillance assets were used in visible demonstrations of rapid-response and cross-border coordination.
- Border Patrol held a press briefing on the U.S. riverbank where officials, including Roberto Domínguez, said the drill was meant to prepare forces, deter criminal networks and was linked to the Cártel de Juárez terrorism designation.
- Authorities reported no arrests from the exercise and described it as preparatory training that aims to improve interoperability and increase enforcement visibility in a corridor long used by human traffickers and drug groups.
