U.S. and China Expand Commercial Passenger Flights After COVID-19 Restrictions

The U.S. Department of Transportation approved both Chinese and U.S. airlines to add round-trip flights between the countries.
U.S. carriers American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines will each operate four weekly round-trip flights to China.
Chinese airlines were approved to increase weekly round-trip flights to the U.S. to 12 total.
Air travel between the U.S. and China remains only a fraction of pre-pandemic levels but has been increasing slowly.
China had banned most international air travel during the COVID-19 pandemic but eased restrictions last year.
