• Municipal police detained René Belmontes Aguilar, alias “El Rino” or “El Chamuco,” identified by authorities as a CJNG operator and regional third in command, during a stop in Jardines del Pedregal on August 27.
• Officers seized firearms, ammunition, methamphetamine, cash, a drone and advanced communications equipment, with local reports noting explosives-related gear.
• The detainees were transferred to the FGR in Morelia as investigations focus on links to extortion, kidnappings, homicides and explosive attacks in Uruapan and nearby municipalities.
