Overview
- Greater Manchester Police were called at around 8:42pm on Friday to reports of a firearms discharge on Higher Road near Urmston railway station.
- The victim sustained a gunshot wound, received treatment at the scene from paramedics, and was taken to hospital where he remains stable but critical.
- A large cordon remains in place with armed officers deployed earlier, Crime Scene Investigators conducting forensic work, and extra patrols in the area.
- Police believe the shooting was a targeted attack with no wider threat to the public, and no arrests have been reported as enquiries continue.
