Urbanista Partners with Exeger to Launch Solar-Powered Headphones and Earbuds
The second-generation Los Angeles headphones and Phoenix earbuds, equipped with Powerfoyle solar cell technology, promise virtually infinite playtime under optimal light conditions.
- Urbanista, a headphone maker, has announced a partnership with Swedish startup Exeger to integrate its Powerfoyle flexible solar cell technology into Urbanista's headphones and earbuds.
- The second-generation Los Angeles headphones and Phoenix earbuds, both equipped with Powerfoyle, promise virtually infinite playtime under optimal light conditions.
- The Los Angeles headphones have a rated playback time of 60 hours and can be charged via USB-C when the battery runs out. The Phoenix earbuds offer eight hours on a charge, with a total of 40 hours when the case is factored in.
- Both the headphones and earbuds have been updated to include more power-efficient internal components, adaptive noise cancellation, and more streamlined designs. They are expected to be priced slightly cheaper than their first-generation counterparts.
- 3M has also announced a partnership with Exeger, integrating Powerfoyle into its new Peltor brand headset.
