UPSC Proposes Centre of Excellence as Knowledge Hub for Recruitment Best Practices

State PSCs have been invited to shape the design of the hub.

Overview

  • Ajay Kumar announced the proposal in a video meeting with chairpersons and members of 27 state public service commissions.
  • UPSC will lead the Centre’s creation and has sought contributions of SOPs, innovations and key learnings from state bodies.
  • The hub is intended to support UPSC and state PSCs and to assist other national recruitment agencies in improving examinations and selections.
  • Participants highlighted the need for greater exam awareness in aspirational districts, with exhibitions and outreach planned during the centenary year starting October 1, 2025.
  • The initiative is at the consultation stage with structure and timelines to be developed, following UPSC’s recent anti-cheating measures such as AI-enabled cameras, biometric checks, QR scans, mobile jammers and police deployment.
