UPSC Opens Applications for 194 Gazetted Posts

The commission will shortlist candidates by profile and pick final hires through an interview-based personality test that does not include a written exam.

Overview

  • The Union Public Service Commission has invited online applications for 194 vacancies across 32 Group A and B gazetted posts with a detailed Advertisement No. 05/2026 available on upsc.gov.in.
  • Applicants must apply through the UPSC Online Recruitment Application (ORA) portal, complete One-Time Registration and the post-specific form, upload supporting documents and obtain a Universal Registration Number before submission.
  • The application window opened on May 23 and closes at 6 pm on June 12, 2026, and candidates in general, OBC and EWS categories must pay a ₹25 fee while women, SC, ST and PwBD applicants are exempt.
  • Selection will be by computerised shortlisting based on academic and professional profile followed by an interview/personality test with no written examination; vacancy counts are published category-wise and may be revised.
  • Successful posts carry pay under the 7th Central Pay Commission (many at Level 10) with allowances and permanent gazetted status, and candidates are advised to read the post-wise eligibility, age limits and experience requirements in the official notification before applying.
