UPS Driver Fatally Shot in Irvine, Suspect Apprehended After Standoff

The driver was on break in his truck when the suspect fired multiple times in what police believe was a targeted attack.

The shooting occurred around 3 p.m. near Chrysler and Bendix streets in an industrial area of Irvine.
The suspect, wearing a face mask, drove up and shot the driver without leaving his vehicle.
Police later located and surrounded the suspect's vehicle, using chemical agents and a K-9 unit to force him out.
The victim was a well-known and friendly figure in the community, often seen taking his lunch break in the same spot.
UPS is cooperating with authorities and providing support to employees affected by the incident.
