UPI Outage Disrupts Payments Across India as Bank Glitches Surface

  • On August 7, internal glitches at HDFC Bank, State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda and Kotak Mahindra Bank triggered a nationwide UPI service failure
  • Downdetector recorded that 62% of users experienced payment breakdowns, 29% faced fund transfer errors and 8% reported app malfunctions
