Overview
- Between 8:52 PM and 9:20 PM on June 19, Kushwaha received seven consecutive threatening calls from numbers claiming to represent the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
- At 8:57 PM, he also received an MMS/SMS warning him to stop speaking against a particular party or face elimination within ten days.
- Kushwaha immediately reported the calls to the Patna Senior Superintendent of Police and urged strict legal action against the perpetrators.
- Despite the threats, the RLM president traveled to Siwan and participated in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public meeting on June 20.
- The threats add to a pattern of gang-linked warnings against Bihar politicians, following similar calls to MP Pappu Yadav in October and Minister Santosh Kumar Singh in January.
