Overview
- A fresh FIR has been registered at Kavi Nagar police station under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act following the raid.
- Officers recovered four luxury cars with bogus diplomatic plates, twelve counterfeit passports of unrecognised micronations and over thirty forged seals and press cards from Jain’s bungalow.
- Rs 44.7 lakh in Indian currency and foreign notes, two fake PAN cards and documents bearing morphed photos of Jain with global leaders were also seized in the operation.
- Investigators say Jain used the guise of diplomatic credentials to defraud businesses and individuals by promising overseas job placements and deals, and to operate a hawala network through shell companies.
- Authorities are probing alleged links to controversial figures Chandraswami and Adnan Khashoggi and warn that more arrests may follow as the wider network is mapped.
