Overview
- Applications will be submitted exclusively on the state RTE portal, where parents can select multiple neighborhood schools.
- Forms will be verified at Block Education Officer and district levels, then processed through a two-stage online lottery with the final list cleared by the District Magistrate.
- Aadhaar requirements have been relaxed to one parent's ID for applications, while reimbursements will be sent only to Aadhaar-seeded parent bank accounts.
- Private unaided schools must reserve 25% of entry-level seats, extending through Class VIII where pre-primary exists, with no fees allowed for RTE students and reimbursements paid at the lower of the notified rate or actual fee.
- The order sets age cut-offs—nursery 3 to under 4, LKG 4–5, UKG 5–6, Class 1 6–7—and districts will fix annual targets up to 25% of entry-level capacity.
