Overview

  • All 17 blocks in Ballia district now host fully operational Amrit Kaal astro labs under a public-private partnership model.
  • Each centre is equipped with Dobsonian telescopes, VR headsets, light experiment kits, anatomical models and microscopes at a cost of ₹2.5–3 lakh per lab.
  • Teacher capacity building includes structured orientation sessions, video guides and mentorship to support inquiry-based science education.
  • Early assessments report marked increases in rural students’ curiosity and conceptual understanding of space, with many envisioning careers at NASA and ISRO.
  • Encouraged by initial success, the Uttar Pradesh government plans to roll out astro lab installations across all districts in the state.
