Overview

  • Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the multi-super-specialty Regency Hospital on August 17 and launched its ‘Regency My Care’ patient app in Gorakhpur.
  • The 250-bed facility includes an 80-bed intensive care unit, eight modular operating theatres and a dedicated cardiac care unit equipped with advanced Cath Lab and IVUS technology.
  • Yogi Adityanath stated that ₹1,100 crore was disbursed from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in the past year and that Ayushman Bharat and the CM Jan Arogya Yojana have covered free treatment up to ₹5 lakh for over 5.5 crore people.
  • Regency Hospital is projected to serve nearly five crore residents across eastern Uttar Pradesh, northwestern Bihar and Nepal and to create 800–900 local jobs.
  • Officials described the opening as part of a wider push to decentralize healthcare following the operationalization of AIIMS Gorakhpur and the establishment of new medical colleges across the region.
