- S‑Bahn and Regional‑Express lines RE2, RE3, RE42, RB32, RB43, RB46 and S2 face partial cancellations, diversions and shortened runs around Wanne‑Eickel.
- RE2 turns at Haltern with no service between Düsseldorf and Haltern, RE3 is diverted via Essen and Bochum, and RE42 either runs nonstop between Recklinghausen and Duisburg or terminates at Recklinghausen Süd.
- RB32 operates only between Duisburg and Gelsenkirchen, RB43 is rerouted between Herne and Gelsenkirchen Zoo without stopping at Wanne‑Eickel, and RB46 turns at Bochum‑Hamme.
- DB has set up Schienenersatzverkehr buses, including Vias between Bochum‑Hamme and Gelsenkirchen and Haniqi and Aydin between Gelsenkirchen, Herne and Recklinghausen.
- Separately, trains resumed around 05:00 on the Emmerich–Oberhausen line after an eight‑week closure, now single‑track, with another two‑week shutdown planned in the autumn holidays and project completion targeted for summer 2026.
