  • The India Meteorological Department (IMD) attributes the weather to an upper air cyclonic circulation and forecasts continued rainfall for the next 24 hours before tapering off.
  • The rainfall has provided relief from temperatures that had soared to 40°C, but it has also led to significant disruptions, including power outages in areas like Sadashiv Peth and Bavdhan.
  • Waterlogging and flooding have been reported in multiple areas, including Sinhagad Road, Aundh, and Pashan, with some commuters stranded due to the sudden downpour.
  • Tree-fall incidents have caused vehicle damage and further power disruptions, with the fire department reporting 11 such cases across the city.
