‘Unruh’ by Wladimir Reichert Wins Made in GSA Cocktail Competition

Judges praised the whisky, vermouth and smoked juniper libation for its inventive use of local flavors

  • Wladimir Reichert, bartender at Bar Studio in Zurich, claimed first place in the Cologne competition held on May 27, 2025.
  • ‘Unruh’ combines whisky, vermouth, Maraschino liqueur and a non-alcoholic distillate infused with smoked juniper and conifer notes.
  • Marcus Dreßler of Hamburg’s Rabbithole secured second place, while Bianca Steinbusch from Bamberg’s Das schwarze Schaf finished third.
  • Lea Folger, also representing Das schwarze Schaf, won the non-alcoholic category with her zero-proof creation.
  • Mixology magazine has organized the annual Made in GSA Competition since 2013 to showcase modern cocktails made from regional ingredients across Germany, Switzerland, Austria and South Tyrol.
