UNLV Names Dan Mullen as New Head Football Coach

The former Florida and Mississippi State coach brings 13 years of experience to a program aiming to sustain recent success under Barry Odom.

Dan Mullen, 52, replaces Barry Odom, who left UNLV for the head coaching job at Purdue after leading the Rebels to a 19-8 record over two seasons.
Mullen has a career coaching record of 103-61, including stints at Mississippi State and Florida, where he reached three New Year's Six bowl games and an SEC Championship appearance.
UNLV has agreed in principle to a five-year deal with Mullen, though financial terms have not yet been disclosed.
The Rebels, coming off a 10-3 season and a second consecutive Mountain West Championship Game appearance, will face Cal in the LA Bowl on December 18.
Mullen emphasized his goal to maintain the program's momentum and compete for championships regularly, leveraging his extensive coaching experience and Las Vegas' NIL opportunities.
