Overview

  • Reno Air Racing Association confirmed the Unlimited Class withdrawal for the Sept. 10–14 event and both sides described the decision as difficult.
  • Unlimited spokesperson Steven Hinton and RARA’s Fred Telling said they intend to work toward the class’s accreditation and return in 2026.
  • The FAA has accredited the National Championship Air Races to host multi-class racing through August 31, 2027 following reviews of the new courses and May’s Pylon Racing Seminar.
  • The Sport Class had already announced in late July that it would not compete, reshaping the lineup for the Roswell debut.
  • RARA says jets, T-6s, biplanes, a STOL Drag demonstration, airshow performances, and Commemorative Air Force warbirds will proceed at a course spanning KROW and the Brown Brothers Ranch under a long-term city agreement.
