University of Pittsburgh Student Missing During Spring Break in Dominican Republic

Authorities are conducting extensive searches for 20-year-old Sudiksha Konanki, last seen walking on a Punta Cana beach early Thursday morning.

Sudiksha Konanki, a 20-year-old University of Pittsburgh student, disappeared on March 6 while walking on a beach at the Riu Republica Resort in Punta Cana around 4:50 a.m. local time.
Konanki, a resident of Virginia and an Indian citizen, was on a spring break trip with five other female students from the University of Pittsburgh.
Search efforts led by Dominican authorities, with support from the Indian Embassy and U.S. agencies, have utilized drones, helicopters, and ground teams but have yet to yield results.
Konanki was last seen wearing a brown bikini, round earrings, an anklet, and bracelets, as detailed in missing person posters circulated online.
The University of Pittsburgh and Loudoun County Sheriff's Office are in contact with Konanki's family, urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in the search.
