Overview
- On May 26, the UGC handed over a Letter of Intent approving Liverpool’s first Indian campus in Bengaluru, making it the second UK institution after Southampton to do so.
- An inaugural cohort will enroll in August 2026 in programmes spanning Business Management, Accounting and Finance, Computer Science, Biomedical Sciences and a pioneering Game Design course.
- The campus builds on existing research collaborations with NIMHANS and IISc Bengaluru to drive STEM-focused projects and industry partnerships.
- Students will have access to a global mobility scheme that facilitates exchanges between the Bengaluru and Liverpool campuses.
- This expansion supports India’s National Education Policy 2020 and follows the UGC’s projection of up to 15 foreign universities establishing campuses in India this academic year.
