University of Kentucky Dance Team Mourns Loss of Kate Kaufling to Bone Cancer

Kate Kaufling passed away at 20 after a courageous battle with osteosarcoma, leaving behind a legacy of bravery and academic excellence.

Kate Kaufling, a 20-year-old University of Kentucky Dance Team member, has died after a battle with osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer.
Diagnosed in June 2023, Kaufling had recently completed chemotherapy before her passing on March 31, 2024.
Described as a joy by her coach, Kaufling was also an exceptional student, maintaining a 4.0 GPA while majoring in nursing.
A GoFundMe campaign for Kaufling's family has raised over $97,000 to help with medical and travel expenses.
Kaufling is survived by her parents, Holly and Steve, and her twin sister, Abbey, who is also a member of the Wildcats Dance Team.
