University of Jammu Reserves Transgender Seats, Adopts National Credit Framework

  • The Academic Council approved one supernumerary seat for transgender candidates in each on-campus programme to enhance inclusivity.
  • The council endorsed the National Credit Framework and its Standard Operating Procedures to align curricula with UGC guidelines and NEP2020.
  • New programmes cleared include an MA in History, an MA/MSc in Disaster Management and distance-learning certificate courses in accounting, GST and tax filing.
  • A policy now permits students to enrol simultaneously in distance-learning courses and a separate physical-mode programme at any UGC-recognised university.
  • Senior faculty from the University of Kashmir and local colleges attended the first-ever Bhaderwah Campus meeting, underscoring regional collaboration and outreach.
