Overview
- - Universitario and Javier Rabanal signed the contract settlement that makes his departure official, ending days of legal and financial talks.
- - The club can now register interim coach Jorge Araujo with Peru’s top league, which is required for him to sit on the bench and direct matches.
- - Peru’s registration rules bar a new or interim coach from full duties until the prior contract is formally terminated, which is why Araujo’s inscription had been on hold.
- - Club leadership says the search for a permanent manager continues with a focus on Uruguayan or Argentine profiles, and it has ruled out high‑profile names like Ricardo Gareca and Fabián Bustos.
- - The move follows a 4–2 Copa Libertadores win over Nacional and a public apology from legal adviser Adrián Gilabert, who acknowledged recent management mistakes.
